While putting together Beginnings (a remembrance of the Angell family’s life in turn-of-the-century Iowa) we realized that we had accumulated hundreds of other artifacts: photos, mementos and the like that we were unable to include in the book. This web site started as a remedy to that situation, a place to safely store all those materials for posterity while making them readily available to everyone. Moreover, it offers a place where you, the extended members of the Angell clan, can not only learn a bit more about our family, but also share memories of your own and, in so doing, pass on the heritage for generations to come.
It is our hope that it might help us better understand the ethos of our forbears while enabling us to, perhaps, reshape our own conceptions of our selves. Flaws and failures are plentiful in all our lives but there are more important things deserving of recognition: describing not what is wrong in our existence, but what has been and continues to be right.
